Start with the agreed base service

A contract should distinguish the routine clearing task from a later request to move accumulated piles. Identify the covered lanes, parking areas and common routes, along with the on-site storage locations. If a ramp, individual-unit access or stall-by-stall clearing is required, show it in the scope rather than assuming a general plowing description covers everything.

When relocation becomes a different job

A pile may need to be moved to preserve access or recover storage capacity. Moving it with a loader, loading trucks and taking it off site can introduce different operators, equipment, travel and disposal arrangements. Ask the contractor to define these tasks and obtain approval before proceeding unless the accepted agreement already establishes the work and authorization process.

Ask for a usable rate schedule

The extra-work proposal should identify current hourly equipment and trucking rates, operator inclusion, transport or delivery charges, minimum billing and disposal if applicable. If fuel affects the price, agree the method and timing rather than leaving an unexplained surcharge. No universal hourly rate is asserted here; the equipment and current proposal determine the price.

Keep service quality ahead of emergency expansion

The route and backup plan should support existing contract obligations. Additional emergency work depends on available capacity and should not silently displace contracted attendance. Ask how the contractor accepts extra jobs during major storms and how the added scope is documented. A clear authorization trail makes the final invoice easier to understand.
